Movie about Lyme Online for free and a New Book Release

Greetings-

Also, I'd tried to post this on my blog site, but haven't been able to make it work.. that a handbook I put together is now published and available through Amazon.com.  It can also be obtained by ordering it through a local bookstore.  The title is "Practical Care Tips for Those in the Lyme Fight".

The handbook evolved out of my experiences and background.  Given the nature of Lyme at this point, there aren't a lot of people out there to 'hold our hand' through treatments, and doing life Lyme-minded.  In the handbook are things that I learned along the way, as well as a bit of my own story- hoping in it that others can find a measure of comfort.

In the handbook are also ideas to help our caregivers. Bless them!

I am finding things challenging these days- as I try to keep to my protocols, deal with changes in meds, prepare for a daughter's wedding this spring, help launch this handbook, answer people's questions about Lyme, advocate for others... No, I am not at 'optimal health' yet-  I am anticipating and working toward having enough stamina to participate in all the wedding activities (at least be vertically attending them ;) )

So- forgive me if I am not posting as often as I'd like to be- If you stop by and see I've not been on for a while- prayers are appreciated :)

It has been an emotional time too.  The Lyme makes me extra weepy anyway (hoping the meds will help with that)-- and there is so much that the 'me inside' would love to be doing with/for my daughter right now..but I do not have the resources to do them...

I get down about it- but the LORD gently reminds me that I am not alone- He is with me, and will strengthen me according to His will, and that I should not take me eyes off of Him.  Otherwise- it is extremely discouraging to look around at so many others who are flitting about with such ease, and seem to have boundless energy and resources....

Easily, I can get jealous of those around me who can seemingly 'do as they please'- they don't seem to 'measure' out anything about their life...they just want to/ and do it... 

Even with loved ones, I can get gnarly about the whole thing- and again, the LORD lovingly convicts me--- and says ' Be thankful-- these people around you that can do all these things are gifts to you- don't become bitter or resentful-- but be thankful they are not as you are, and for all the ways they are blessings-----

and, do not forget-I have plans for you, where you are at right now- to be a blessing to others--- it will look different than those you see flitting about...but nonetheless, I have a purpose in all this- and I have assignments to bless for you to to accomplish according to the strength, gifts, talents I have created in you--   But- I cannot work effectively through you if you do not keep a clean, thankful heart...a heart of praise...'

So- Beloved- I encourage you too- to keep a heart of praise and thankfulness.  Look for ways you can enter into thanking God/enjoying God-- not just for what He does for you, but especially for Who He Is.

Fresh Breath

Joy to you!

Ah- isn't it lovely to have a fresh breeze today to fill our homes with a a fresh breath. Oh, what a 'fresh breath' we will remember on Easter morning! HE IS RISEN! HE IS RISEN INDEED!

Meanwhile- we hold our breath somehow, or take shallow stale breaths as we wait the Passover season, and Good Friday. Do you notice that there are days, or seasons of our life that we find ourselves living the days with shallow, stale breaths? Beloved- breathe deeply the freshness of our Saviour's Word, through His Holy Spirit- as He daily supplies His freshness....breathe it in...savor His sweet presence... Beloved- He still brings newness, freshness, redemption...new life- every day, every moment we take the time to Be Still, and know that He is, I AM... He can put a new song into your day... Throw open the window, invite Him in- enjoy~

This morning I was reading in Isaiah again. One of the verses in our 'homework' is in Isaiah- of course- I had to not only read that portion, but the chapter/verses around it too- and wonderfully, they are passages that speak of the coming Saviour, and the process of Redemption, which He willingly attended to...so that we can indeed enjoy Hope...

I tried to narrow down the passages to share- I really did....but there were too many to cut out. Instead, here below are the chapters for you to savor on your own...may His Holy Spirit reveal His Mystery to you in them~

May His grace overwhelm us this week as we meditate on His Great Gift.

Compassion & Our Treasures

I've been away from this Blog, but not away from thinking of you. 

My life got more full, and I was herxing.  I change up my Rife treatment every so often- and I must've really gotten into a new layer of buggers!  Which is good, it's just it lays me out for awhile! 

And- with what energy I have to do life- I'm also working on wedding plans for one of our daughters, whose wedding is in about a month and a half! 

And- I've unexpectedly become an author!  It was nothing I sought out as  a whole- but it gained it's own legs; a Lyme pal sent it in to a publisher...another friend underwrote publishing costs-  and here it is now available for purchase. 

I am in wonder!  At how this has come about- and about how it will go forward.  I give it to the LORD, it is His do as He pleases.. My prayer is that it will bring an extra measure of Hope, Comfort, and help in navigating through Lyme treatments. 

Being an author, I have found, to be an awkward task.  Surely whatever is good in this project comes from His hand~

Although I've not been writing- I have been studying the Word... Mostly camping out in the book of Matthew- studying the Teacher, His ways.... I was challenged by a preacher to not only pay attention to these accounts in looking at Jesus' deity- but also His humanity...For Our God is a High Priest who understands our humanity-  Oh praise Him!

Throughout the early part of Matthew, and Jesus' ministry- I have been struck by His Compassion.  To me that has been the overriding theme.  His Compassion- and how He dealt with individuals.  I've particularly noted this in the records of healing-- commonalities I noted are that He dealt individually with the individual- and yet, the encounter benefited those around them (and us yet today). 

Each was a different need, a different response- but Jesus was always a Compassionate, Present, help.  And, in the healings- it was always first to glorify the LORD according to His will; and to build up/encourage the Believers....and as a witness to the unbelieving. 

Of course- I balance the accounts of healing with knowing none of these people are alive on earth today.  Each did pass from this life to the next.  They experienced temporary healing on this earth, and THE healing of healing when they were set free to be with the Lord in Heaven. 

So, will I be healed?  I dont' know about on this earth- I do not know His will; I do know He has the power to do that if He wills it... But, He may choose that I serve Him through weakness, and my healing will be when I enter Heaven some day..  I do not choose to spend a lot of energy speculating and fretting on this.  He knows I would like to be healed. 

But it is all the more important to Him how I live whatever life, kind of life, He has given me.  And if the circumstances I am in drive me all the more to seek His face- maybe it's not so bad?

I've been in Matthew 12 this past week...verses 33-45 today-   I was struck in the first of this selection to self examine what treasures I am holding onto in my heart.  Without a lot of energy to mask things- those 'treasures' are all the more easily uncovered when I open my mouth.  Sadly, there is still plenty of self/flesh in there. 

What I want, how I think things should be, what I think is right/fair, how things should go according to me....Regularly I need to check the vault in my heart to see what needs to be discarded, cleaned-- and to invite that space be taken up more and more by the Holy Spirit (especially after studying again Mtt 12:43-45)!

Well my Beloved- May today you know the Compassion of our Lord Jesus as reality. May you sense His seeing you, touching you, in some particular ways- that you may be encouraged that Our God knows what you are experiencing at the core of your being- and that He desires to meet with you, to heal you in some manner today...For He operates dimensionally and wholly with us.

Nourishment

A few days ago, I read this entry in Morning & Evening by Spurgeon:
"Man . . . is of few days, and full of trouble." --Job 14:1

It may be of great service to us, before we fall asleep, to remember this mournful fact, for it may lead us to set loose by earthly things. There is nothing very pleasant in the recollection that we are not above the shafts of adversity, but it may humble us and prevent our boasting like the Psalmist in our morning's portion.

 "My mountain standeth firm: I shall never be moved." It may stay us from taking too deep root in this soil from which we are so soon to be transplanted into the heavenly garden. Let us recollect the frail tenure upon which we hold our temporal mercies. If we would remember that all the trees of earth are marked for the woodman's axe, we should not be so ready to build our nests in them.

We should love, but we should love with the love which expects death, and which reckons upon separations. Our dear relations are but loaned to us, and the hour when we must return them to the lender's hand may be even at the door. The like is certainly true of our worldly goods. Do not riches take to themselves wings and fly away?

Our health is equally precarious. Frail flowers of the field, we must not reckon upon blooming for ever. There is a time appointed for weakness and sickness, when we shall have to glorify God by suffering, and not by earnest activity. There is no single point in which we can hope to escape from the sharp arrows of affliction; out of our few days there is not one secure from sorrow.

Man's life is a cask full of bitter wine; he who looks for joy in it had better seek for honey in an ocean of brine. Beloved reader, set not your affections upon things of earth: but seek those things which are above, for here the moth devoureth, and the thief breaketh through, but there all joys are perpetual and eternal. The path of trouble is the way home. Lord, make this thought a pillow for many a weary head!

What a challenge!  Oh dear- but Lyme Fighters live quite a bit with these life-tensions, many a day in a 'cask full of bitter wine'.  And yes- trying to find 'honey in an ocean of brine' seems impossible, futile...we wonder if there is any honey even sweet enough to keep searching for it!

Beloved- there is such honey.  It is sweet and nourishing- so much so, that even the smallest morsel is satisfying to our very being- our whole being.  The delights may not come often, or in large amounts- they may be hidden in the shroud of 'every day events'-- but they are there. 

To find them, we must continually be tuned in to the LORD- petitioning Him to reveal Himself to us this day- give us ears to hear, eyes to see His presence, His beauty...

And once seen or heard- may the delight we have return to Him as praise, glory and honor- to His delight. 

Today Beloved- may the LORD's presence be your delight as you seek Him-

Dwelling

I confess- I've had a grouchy morning.  And yes, even at, and after church.  No excuse, but I was tired after having done an extra activity yesterday-- and today is payday. 

Before heading out to church, I had a thought come to mind.  One word: dwelling.  I didn't have time to develop the thought further rigth then, but as the morning went on- I began to see more meaning in the word.

Of course, being a wonkish nerd- I had to look up the word dwelling; yes, in more than one source! 

Merriam-Webster says: 'a shelter (as a house) in which people live' and that the word was noted to be used in the 14th century...they also list a wonder list of synonyms and related words...

My Dictionary.com app says: a building or place of shelter to live in; abode; home...  originating sometime 1250-1300... Interestingly -in the early usage, it would hold meaning  to lead astray, go astray, to make a fool of

Most interesting to me was noting below this- the definition of dwell: 
-to live of stay as a permanent resident; resides
- to live or continue in a given condition or state
- to linger over, emphasize, or ponder in thought, speech, or writing

Ah, now it was really starting to hit home. 

Yep- Today I was caught 'dwelling', and it wasn't about where I reside physically.  It had to do with where my heart was dwelling...or rather, on what my heart was dwelling... And yes, deception was involved, as it involved my heart. (Jeremiah 17:9  “The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it?)

I can tell you today, I wasn't choosing to dwell in the Kingdom of Heaven the LORD has provided for me.  No, I was hanging out in a hovel of hurt and self-pity. 

Obviously- it's time for some house cleaning...again. Seems like with the lead curtain of lyme pulled down over me- darkness can swallow me up so much more quickly... I get tired and my shield of faith slips more easily- and as soon as that happens, those firey arrows come a'flyin!  (Ephesians 6:10-17)


God forgive me for again, for taking my eyes off of You, and choosing to dwell in the shany of my own heart- slapped together with boards of self-pity, anger, self-righteousness, hurt, fear...nailed together with nails of pride...

Tear down these walls LORD- replace them with the bricks of love, peace, joy, mercy, truth, compassion...fill the walls with  Your righteousness, Your glory, Your lovingkidness... with Jesus as its Cornerstone, and Your Holy Spirit its mortar...  may it become my permanent dwelling place here on earth, as I wait until the glorious day You come to take me to the mansion which You've prepared for me. 

In my weakness and affliction, You are gentle, patient, and my Comforter- You see all things and You will give me strength to move forward...out of my self-imposed hut, and into a heavenly dwelling.  My I dwell there.

For those who have been made right with God, according to their relationship with Jesus-  The LORD: hears, delivers, is near, saves, delivers. 

 

What that looks like for you today- I can't tell you.  But, I can tell you that He is working- whether we feel like it or not; whether we see it right now or not.... remember- He is our hope, not our circumstances.  He operates dimensionally and outside of time... and according to His Kingdom's economy. 

 

In your heart of hearts, your soul- may the truth of the words:

He hears,

He delivers,

He is near,

He saves,

He delivers- 

 

Wash away:

fear,

doubt,

disatisfaction

 

...and in their places, may the Holy Spirit provide you with:

faith,

love,

hope,

peace,

and great satisfaction.

Crossroads

We are doing a series in Sunday School on "Recovery"; it is actually one about a nation's recovery, and how it begins with the individual- and, as Believers, are we viewing our politics through a biblical lens, or is it the other way around... If I complain about the government, am I also prepared to take a good hard, honest, look at my own life- am I living without duplicity?

Well, I was also studying for another lesson I am a part of, the two lessons intersected in Jeremiah chapter 6.  (The other lessons' principle verses were: Matthew 11:28-30  and 2 Chronicles 6-7)

In both, at different times, we find people, a nation, at a crossroads. 

I feel like with Lyme, crossroads come every single day in some way.  Who to go to for help, which medication/treatments, where do I start/end, how much do I do/not do today, do I push through/back off...Are the things in my mind/emotions- my thoughts, the Lord speaking to me, affects of Lyme... 

What about the people we hear telling us 'peace...peace'- and yet our gut is telling us, "No- something's not right!" 

In Jeremiah 6:14-15 we see false leaders telling the people 'peace, peace...but there was no peace'.  The sin of disobedience was causing the nation to be broken.  But that was only  part of the problem.  What kept them tethered to sin was their lack of discernment (and the leaders who contribute to this). 

Jeremiah implores these people at a crossroads to follow the ancient, good pathway- with the way marked by repentance, reconciliation, respect & love for God...and to walk in obedience.  They'd wandered so far off track, they'd lost sight of those markers along the good way.  But again, to even see they are lost- there needs to be discernment.

Pathways, as we travel along,  Lyme- just adds to the difficulty of staying on the good path. It is foggy, confusing, with amazing ups-n-downs and all around; to say it is a rocky, treacherous path for us is an understatement.  It is tough socially, mentally, emotionally, financially, spiritually... we question everything- even God's goodness.

Which bring me back to discernment, and might I add wisdom.  The kind of discernment that the LORD gives us.  We must turn to Him at any, and every, crossroad we come to.  We need His help to steer through all of it- we know our own perception is deceptive, clouded, dim...

So what crossroad are you at today?  What are you wrestling with?  If you are at a crossroad today- I invite you to first bend your knee at the Cross- before the Lord Jesus Christ.  Bring to Him that with which you are wrestling.  Ask Him for His wisdom and discernment-   If there is sin found in your heart- confess it to Him and allow His forgiveness to wash over you-- and then move forward according to His promise, and walk in obedience. 

If there is no sin- ask Him to lead you- to teach you- to show you The Way.  And no matter how dim the view, know that when you travel in obedience to Him, according the righteousness you have through Jesus-  you are on the ancient, good way.
